MMRV Childhood Vaccine Study
Is your child between 4 and 6 years old?
Join our clinical research study that is aiming to offer a potential new vaccine option to help protect children from childhood illnesses.
Why This Study Matters
Your child may be able to take part if they:
- are 4–6 years of age
- are in good health
- have received a single (first) dose of a measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox vaccine in their second year of life
- have not had measles, mumps, rubella, or chickenpox
What to Expect During the Study
Measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox (varicella) are all very contagious infections and can cause serious illness in children. Availability of more vaccines is important because vaccination helps to prevent infections and protect children from severe illness. The Twinkle-006 Study is looking at an investigational vaccine for the prevention of measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox in children. The study will evaluate the immune response produced by a dose of the study vaccine and will monitor how safe the study vaccine is. The study vaccine will be compared with a routine vaccine approved for the prevention of measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox. The comparator vaccine is already available for use in more than 90 countries.

What else do I need to consider?
The study team will explain the possible benefits and risks of the study.
- You do not have to allow your child to take part in the study if you do not want to.
- If you choose for your child to take part in the study, they can stop participating at any time.
- You and your child will not be paid to take part in this study, but you will be reimbursed for reasonable travel costs during your child’s participation.
- The vaccine in the study and all study-related tests will be provided at no cost to you.
- A team of doctors and nurses will monitor your child’s health carefully during the study.
- The study has been reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Independent Ethics Committee (IEC), which protects the rights, safety, and well-being of the participants.
What Are the Benefits of Participating?
Families who participate will receive:
- Study-related vaccines at no cost
- Study-related medical evaluations and laboratory testing at no cost
- Care from experienced physicians and research professionals
- Reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses
- The opportunity to contribute to research that may benefit children in the future
Your Child's Safety Comes First
Your child’s health and safety are the highest priorities throughout the study.
During participation:
- Qualified physicians and nurses closely monitor your child's health
- You may ask questions at any time
- Participation is completely voluntary
- You may withdraw your child from the study at any time without penalty
What Is a Clinical Research Study?
Clinical research studies help physicians and scientists evaluate investigational medications and vaccines before they become widely available.
These studies help answer important questions such as:
- Is the vaccine safe?
- Does it produce the desired immune response?
- How does it compare with currently available vaccines?
- Are there any side effects?
Every approved vaccine available today was studied through clinical research before becoming available to the public.
